“No Segregation, no Collection” a fresh start in Cebu CityPosted on
CEBU CITY, Philippines — Finally, the City Government of Cebu implements ‘no segregation, no collection’ of garbage, a national law which should have been implemented 18 years ago.
The law on segregation at source was implemented in “Pursuant to Republic Act 9003 known as Ecological Solid Waste Management Act of 2000.
But a Cebu City has just started to implement it.
In a memorandum he issued on September 28, 2016, City Mayor ATomas Osmeña announced the strict implementation of the segregation at source.
Yesterday, he again reiterated his memorandum, unsegregated garbage, Osmeña said, will not be collected. Those who are caught disposing of mixed wastes will be apprehended.
