DAVAO CITY — Special Assistant to the President Christopher Lawrence “Bong” Go on Saturday, June 16, assured that an investigation on the recent “tanim-bala” incident is being conducted, reiterating anew President Rodrigo Roa Duterte’s promise that the said modus-operandi would not be tolerated under this administration.
This was after passenger Kristine Bumanglag-Moran was caught with a bullet in her luggage last Friday afternoon (June 15) at Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) Terminal 3.
“Isa ito sa mga pangunahing concern ng ating Pangulo at pinangako niya noon na ‘pag meron pang insidenteng mangyari tulad nito ay ipapakain niya ‘yung bala,” Go told reporters in an interview following the Eid’l Fitr celebration at the SMX Convention Center.
The Palace official said that the Department of Transportation (DOTr), Manila International Airport Authority (MIAA), and Office for Transportation Security (OTS) are conducting their investigation.
The said agencies are expected to submit a report regarding the incident within 24 hours.
President Duterte’s top aide also urged other tanim bala victims to be vigilant and file a complaint to the authorities as the government is open to receive complaints and take immediate action.
“Ang importante dito, walang naha-hassle, walang naagrabyado, at walang kinikikilan na tulad noon,” he said.-Jiann A. Padillo/NewsLine.ph
