DAVAO CITY (October 2) — President Rodrigo R. Duterte has appointed Elpidio Jumalon Vega as the new government corporate counsel replacing Rudolf Philip Jurado who was sacked last May.
Duterte fired Jurado for allegedly favoring a giving undue favor to gambling operator without a public bidding.
Vega used to be the deputy of Jurado.
Duterte signed Vega’s appoint paper of Sept. 27 but it was released to media on Monday.
Jurado was fired when Duterte signed the Ease of Doing Business and Efficient Government Service Delivery Act of 2018 at Malacañang Palace on May 28, 2018.
