Duterte publicly fires PMA comptroller for cutting cadets budget amounting to P15MPosted on
DAVAO CITY (August 14) — President Rodrigo Duterte publicly fired the comptroller of the Philippine Military Academy (PMA) for allegedly cutting over P15-million funds from the cadets allowance.
Duterte identified the comptroller as Lieutenant Colonel Hector Maraña, whom he said committed various offenses, including fraud, conduct unbecoming of government employees, conduct prejudicial to government, among others.
“This guy Maraña, he absconded the money,” he stressed.
Duterte announced the dismissal as he led the launching of the Go Negosyo’s ‘Pilipinas Angat Lahat’ program at the Rizal Hall in Malacañan Palace on August 14, 2018.
“I approved his dismissal and he was the comptroller of PMA, he malverse P15-Million of cadets allowances,” an angry Duterte stressed.
He publicly signed the dismissal while in the middle of his speech.
“I give the decision separating him (from service) and I recommended that he be imprisoned 6 to 12 years, I will sign in your presence, Send this guy to hell, that’s an order,” he emphasized while signing the dismissal order .-Editha Z. Caduaya/NewsLine.ph
