ILIGAN CITY (August 14) – The Philippine Drugs Enforcement Agency (PDEA) in Northern Mindanao has arrested the son of former Lanao del Norte’s 1st District Congress Representative Alipio Badelles in a drug buy-bust operation in Barangay Palao.
Erik Dominique Badelles, also known as Boji, was caught after PDEA’s asset bought a sachet of shabu in the amount of P1,000 from him.
PDEA Northern Mindanao’s Agent Wax said the younger Badelles has been in their ‘target-list drug personality’ for a year now after the agency confirmed his ‘reengagement’ in drug trade.
Boji was arrested in a buy-bust operation on 2014 in Cagayan de Oro City by the same PDEA team who arrested him last night. The case was dismissed due to some technical reasons.
“He was in the list four years ago until he was arrested. He is again on the list this year for the second time. Any person belonging to the said target list is a high value target,” Agent Wax said.
Agent Wax however clarrified that Badelles was just a user who only sell occasionally to ‘trusted friends’. Operatives were able to recover two big and two small plastic sachets of shabu, assorted drug paraphernalia and 1,000 pesos buy bust money. He is now in the custody of PDEA 10 and will face charges of violation of Article 5 of the Republic Act 9165 or the Dangerous Drugs Act.
Badelles is the second known personality in Iligan City arrested in a buy bust operation of PDEA after the Iligan City Police Office changed its leadership. Divina Suson/ NewsLine
