₱6.8-M worth of suspected shabu seized in Sulu drug bust; One arrested, another escapes

DAVAO CITY – Authorities confiscated approximately ₱6.8 million worth of suspected shabu in a joint anti-drug operation conducted by the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA)–Sulu, along with local police and military personnel, in Barangay Tanduh Bato, Luuk, Sulu on February 23, 2025.

PDEA-BARMM Director Gil Cesario Castro identified the arrested suspect as alias “Dens/Maj,” 32 years old, from Barangay Mananti, Luuk, Sulu.

Another suspect, identified as alias “Dhas,” who was riding a motorcycle, managed to evade arrest and remains at large.

During the operation, authorities seized an eco bag containing suspected shabu, estimated to be worth ₱6.8 million.

PDEA is now preparing criminal charges for violation of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act against both suspects, including the one who escaped. Authorities have launched a manhunt to locate and apprehend the fleeing suspect.
