10 arrested for disrupting Independence Day rites

KAWIT, Cavite — Police operatives here arrested 10 suspects, including 3 minors, who were in the act of disrupting the 121st Independence Day celebration at the Aguinaldo Shrine, in Kaingen village here at 7:30 a.m. Wednesday.

In a spot report from Kawit Municipal Police Station sent to the PNA, policemen from various units arrested 10 suspects identified as Norlito Albino, 52; Ronald Valderama , 19; Julius Gonzales, 30; Annie Bonifacio, 30; and Jhanete Llano, 19.

Also taken into police custody were Dante Peneda Jr.; 29; Raselle Mora, 22; and three minors aged 16 to 17.

However, the report did not elaborate how the suspects disrupted the Independence Day ceremonies.

The suspects who are now under the custody of the Kawit police will face charges of illegal assembly and alarm and scandal while the three minors were turned over to the Municipal Social Welfare and Development of Kawit for proper disposition. Albino will also be charged for resisting arrest.

Police recovered from Albino’s possession cash amounting to PHP47,700.

The cases will be filed before the Provincial Prosecutor’s Office in Imus City, Cavite on Thursday. (PNA)
