DAVAO CITY — The province of Davao Oriental will soon have two “super health centers” with the groundbreaking of the said facilities in Mati City and Lupon town on March 11.

This came a long way from realization for the province as senator Christopher Lawrence “Bong” Go promised that there would be more health facilities projects for the province.

The super health center is twice better, and more extensive compared to the typical rural health unit because it offers essential medical services at the local outpatient department, laboratory, x-ray, ultrasound, birthing services, diagnostic, pharmacy, and emergency. services.

Once the project is completed, residents will benefit from the services provided, especially those who are in far-flung areas of the municipality.

it is also easy for residents to access healthcare services without having to travel to a distant hospital. The center will provide free services because it is covered by the Universal Health Care Act.

The Department of Health funded the project under the Health Facilities Enhancement Program while the concerned local government unit will shoulder the maintenance, upkeep, operation, and staffing.

There will be other healthcare centers to be constructed in the towns of Baganga, Boston, Caraga, Cateel, San Isidro, and Tarragona.

Senator Go thanked his fellow legislators, local officials, and the DOH for supporting his goal as Chair of the Senate Committee on Health to further strengthen the country’s healthcare system by building more Super Health Centers in different communities in the country.

“The Super Health Centers are really for our countrymen in remote areas and will also help the poor,” Go said.
