25-minutes unli-lechon in Davao del Sur

DAVAO CITY —About 6,000 residents and visitors enjoyed eating the free unlimited lechon (roast pig) for 25-minutes in Digos City, Davao del Sur on Sunday.

The fete started at 11:00 in the morning and ended at 1:00 in the afternoon with more than 800 pigs roasted, the unli-lechon highlighted the 19th Araw ng Digos celebration.

Rodora Villarber, 54, one of those who enjoyed the free lechon said “Lami jud, Makakaon man ko kay di man ko high-blood lami jud kaayo kay libre man ( taste good, I ate because I am not having high blood pressure, it’s so delicious because it’s free).

The city government of Digos distributed 6,000 tickets. The first batch arrived after the culmination program at the Rizal Park.

 The original plan, according to Mayor Josef Fortich Cagas, was to invite 12,000 guests but due to time constraint, they ended up having only half.

The family of Mayor Cagas, his uncle Governor Douglas, his aunt Congresswoman Cagas met their constituents during the event, as they ended the weeklong celebration.-ezc/newsline.ph
