2MBde observes 73rd Philippine Marine Birthday with festivities in Bongao, Tawi-Tawi

BONGAO, Tawi-Tawi — The 2nd Marine Brigade (2MBde), under the leadership of Brigadier General Romeo T. Racadio PN(M), celebrated its post-73rd Marine Birthday on November 17, 2023, at the 2MBde Headquarters. The event featured Lt. Gen. William N. Gonzales PA, Commander of the Western Mindanao Command (WMC), as the esteemed Guest of Honor and Speaker.

Distinguished attendees included Rear Admiral Donn Anthony L. Miraflor PN, Commander of the Naval Forces Western Mindanao Command, Honorable Governor Yshmael “Mang” I. Sali, Al-haj, and various representatives from both the public and private sectors.

Echoing the theme for this year, “Philippine Marine Corps at 73: Most ready, always forward in the defense and security of our maritime nation,” BGen. Racadio expressed his pride in the 2MBde’s active involvement in safeguarding the southwestern frontier.

Lt. Gen. Gonzales underscored the importance of maintaining the drumbeat for the defense and security of the province. He urged the Marines to continue fostering the values they have established, always staying two steps ahead in every task, significantly enhancing the province of Tawi-Tawi, transforming it into a beautiful and peaceful place.

The celebration not only paid homage to the Marine Corps’ rich history but also spotlighted the unwavering commitment of the 2MBde to contribute to the defense and security of the maritime nation. (WesMinCom PR)
