3 young men robbed food delivery crew

DAVAO CITY — Police on Monday morning, arrested three young men who robbed a delivery crew of a fast food chain.

Police Major Ruben Libera, Sasa precinct  Commander, identified the suspects as: Eeron Puno Monton, 21; James Carl Soterol Andres, 18, and one alias Jomar, 17,  all residents of Sto Niño Riverside, Km. 9, Sasa, Davao City.

Libera said the victim identified as Martin Paul Aldea Jr., 29, delivery crew, was driving his delivery service motorcycle heading back to McDonald Damosa Branch at about 12:01 a.m, but  upon reaching  Km. 9, Sasa, Davao City, the suspects armed with knives, suddenly way laid his way and declared hold-up and forcibly took his black pouch which contained Php 1,000.00.

But the suspects were not contented, they jointly mauled victim, who later was able to escape and sought police assistance.

Responding police officers Confiscated from their possession were: 1) one hunting knife, measuring 8 inches from tip to handle and 2) one (1) black pouch containing Php 1,000 bill, stolen money. 

Meanwhile, Monton, who tried to put up a fight with the arrested operatives sustained gunshot wound was immediately rushed to Southern Philippines Medical Center (SPMC) for medical treatment.

Police regional director Brig. Gen. Filmore B Escobal, Regional Director, lauded the operating unit for the neutralization of the suspects.

Cases of robbery and physical injuries will be filed against the arrested persons while the minor (CICL) will be coordinated to CSSDO for proper intervention.
