DAVAO CITY (September 26) – A total of 302 senior citizens and persons with disabilities (PWDs) were hired on the spot during a special job fair organized by the City Government of Davao on September 23-24, 2025.

Public Employment and Services Office (PESO) Manager Lilibeth Pantinople said that on the first day, McDonald’s hired 80 seniors, with eight placed on reserve pending medical clearance. The successful applicants will be deployed in 19 participating stores, working in two shifts—morning and afternoon—for three months.

On the second day, the Jollibee Group hired 162 seniors and 60 PWDs, including deaf and hard-of-hearing applicants. The seniors will be deployed in four batches, starting October, with four-hour shifts from Monday to Friday for three months. Meanwhile, the PWDs will work in three batches of 20, with eight-hour shifts for five months. They will be assigned across 20 Jollibee stores in the city.

Pantinople said the program provides opportunities for both seniors and PWDs to remain active, earn income, and contribute to the workforce.
