4 injured in bus-tricycle collision on Holy Thursday in Davao City

DAVAO CITY (April 17) – Four passengers sustained injuries in a collision between a tricycle and a Metro Shuttle bus early Thursday morning, April 17, 2025, along Quezon Boulevard, Barangay 23-C.​

According to the Davao City Police Office Traffic Enforcement Unit, the incident occurred around 3:40 a.m.

The police report stated that the tricycle, driven by Abdulazis Baroa Sultan of Purok 6, Mini Forest, Barangay 23-C, was traveling towards Ecoland when it collided with the bus, operated by Melanio Jr. Calimpong of Purok 3, Caasinan, Cabadbaran, Agusan del Norte, near Bolton Bridge.​

The injured passengers were identified as Zuhaila Utto, Rasha Utto Lawan, Jasmin Utto Lawan, and Farina Utto Lawan. Emergency responders from Central 911 transported them to the Southern Philippines Medical Center for treatment.​

Both drivers are currently in police custody as the investigation continues.
