40 families affected by Zamboanga City blaze

ZAMBOANGA CITY — The Bureau of Fire Protection in Zamboanga City has released initial data regarding the fire that occurred yesterday morning on Manggal Drive in Baliwasan Grande.

Around 40 families have been affected by this fire. The blaze resulted in the total destruction of 37 homes, while three others sustained partial damage, with estimated losses reaching one million pesos.

The local government has promptly provided assistance to affected families currently staying in temporary evacuation centers.

Mayor John Dalipe has directed the City Social Welfare and Development Office and other relevant agencies to expedite the delivery of necessary support and aid to the victims.

This incident reached the third alarm before it was brought under control. The Bureau of Fire Protection is currently conducting an investigation to determine the fire’s origin and cause.
