40 more Filipinos abroad tested positive of Covid-19 says DFA

DAVAO CITY –— The Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) on Thursday reported 40 new cases of confirmed COVID-19 cases among Filipinos abroad.

In a statement, the DFA said “20 new recoveries in the Americas, Asia and the Pacific, and Europe, while there are 8 new deaths in the Americas and the Middle East”.

With the new cases, the total number of confirmed cases is now at 5,469.

Regional comparative data shows that to date, Middle East not only has the highest recorded COVID-19 cases at 3,385 but also in terms of total patients undergoing treatment and total recoveries at almost 1,900 and almost 1,400, respectively.

While the Americas still have the highest number of fatalities at 155, followed by the Middle East at 142.
