DAVAO CITY — Five kids were buried alive in a landslide early morning Sunday, November 14, in  Purok 2, Sitio Sawsaw, Barangay Barangay Mandulog, Iligan City.

Police Major Zandrex Pamolong, of the Iligan City Police Office identified the kids as CJ Barulan, 8; Kent, 6; Xian, 4; Trishamae, 3; and Shemabel, seven months old, all children of couple Shiela and  Jessie Barulan.

The victims were brought to the hospital, the parents survived but the kids did not.

The couple told the members of the Iligan City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office, that the incident happened so quick at around 6:00 a.m.

Barangay  Chairman Abongal Cauntongan has ordered the residents to vacate the areas as they await the response of the Housing and Resettlement Office for their request of a relocation site to avoid same incident in the future.

Cauntongan said the sporadic rain  during the past days has triggered the loosening of the ground which resulted to the landslide.
