6 new Covid-19 positives among Filipinos abroad, infected now raised to 1,343

DAVAO CITY — The Department of Foreign Affairs on Sunday recorded another six new cases of coronavirus infection among Filipinos overseas, bringing the total number to 1,343.

The new cases are from Europe which now brings a total of 44 among Filipino in said region.

It also reported that 3 new recoveries and 1 new death among our OFWs were also recorded by the DFA in the Americas and Europe on Sunday bringing the total death toll to 185 with 331 recoveries.

The DFA will continue to monitor the status of our people abroad and will keep on rallying the observance of preventive measures against COVID-19 pandemic. The DFA added that 827 overseas Filipinos are currently undergoing treatment.

Filipino COVID-19 cases have been recorded in a total of 44 countries or regions worldwide. Europe has the highest number with 418 cases. This is followed by 328 cases in the Americas, 327 cases in the Asia Pacific Region, and 270 cases in the Middle East/Africa.-NewsLine
