9-Year-Old killed in tragic accident in Davao City

DAVAO CITY – A 9-year-old Grade 4 student, Shienjilyn Bangcas, residing in Purok 4, Barangay 76-A, Bucana, and attending Santa Ana Central Elementary School, lost her life after being struck by a bus in Davao City.

According to the investigation conducted by the local police, the tragic accident occurred when the young girl attempted to cross a pedestrian lane and was struck by the bus. The impact of the collision resulted in the child being dragged beneath the bus.

The bus driver, identified as Efren Cerona Junior from Santo Tomas, Davao del Norte, was at the wheel during the unfortunate incident.

Regrettably, Shienjilyn Bangcas was declared dead on arrival at the Southern Philippines Medical Center (SPMC), where she was rushed for medical attention.

The driver of the bus involved in the accident is now in custody at the San Pedro Police Station, pending further investigation and legal proceedings.
