Duterte visits wounded soldiers in Davao

May 25, 2018 by NewsLine Philippines

Davao City (May 25) — President Rodrigo Roa Duterte visited seven wounded-in-action soldiers at the Metro Davao Medical Research Center (MDMRC) here on Thursday to boost and uplift their morale.

Right after inaugurating the Davao River Bridge, Duterte proceeded to the hospital to personally talk to his wounded soldiers.

Duterte who cares   for his troopers,  was emotional,  when he saw wounded soldiers sacrificing their lives to protect the country in the hinterlands.

The soldiers were so happy seeing their Command-in-Chief next to them.

A soldiers who requested  anonymity  said “I cannot believe, it was our president talking to me, I felt like my wounds totally healed when he look at my eyes, I was deeply honored, I will continue to fight for my country.”

During the hospital visit,  Duterte personally awarded the medals of the Order of Lapu-Lapu with the Rank of Kampilan to the soldiers in honor of their courage, bravery, and sacrifice in the service of the country.

The Order of Lapu-Lapu, Rank of Kampilan is conferred by the President to recognize exemplary service by workers of the government and private individuals who are wounded, injured, or suffered great loss of property for their participation in the advocacy of the President.

Among the wounded soldiers were Pfc. Nicasio Badana III, Pvt. Michael Liban, Pfc. Jackson Macaraig, Cpl. Kith Domingo, Pvt. Roy Inovejas, Pfc. Roger Belas, Pfc. Daniel Fabular.

Inovejas, Belas, and Fabular were injured by improvised explosive device in Mabini, Compostella Valley last May 21.

Badana, Liban, and Macaraig sustained injuries in an encounter in Surigao del Sur on May 18 while Domingo was hurt in a separate encounter on May 19.

Duterte has a bedside talk with his wounded men, he promised them medical and handed financial support for their families.ezc/newsline.ph
