ILIGAN CITY (August 16) – Joint operatives of Baroy Municipal Police Station and Lanao del Norte Provincial Intelligence Branch arrested a 33-year old woman in a buy-bust operation inside a lodging house in Poblacion, Baroy, Lanao del Norte.

Police identified the suspect as Liezl Comilao, a resident of Kapatagan, Lanao del Norte.  Her two daughters, aged three and five, two sisters-in-law, aged 15 and 16, were with her when she was arrested inside the lodging house.

Senior Inspector Moamar Solog, chief of Baroy MPS, said Comilao’s husband was also arrested in an anti-drug operation last year and now at the provincial jail of Lanao del Norte.

Solog said Comilao is considered a high-value target in the province and identified as “level 1”.  “She is a pusher. Her distribution of illegal drugs is throughout the province,” the police chief added.

In an interview, Comilao admitted she is selling illegal drugs for a living. “Para mabuhay ko ang mga anak ko,” she said.

She bought a big pack of drugs for 20,000, repack and sell it to 30,000 to 40,000 pesos.  Comilao’s 15 and 16-year old sisters-in-law are her runners, she said. The older one confirmed she is sent to deliver drugs to costumers.

Cases of violation in Republic Act 9165 are now being prepared against Comilao while the four minors were turned over to the Municipal Social Welfare and Development Office of Baroy for custody.  Divina Suson/ NewsLine
