Davao vice mayor calls on the public to cooperate during security checks

DAVAO CITY (September 6)— “It pays to be vigilant and please cooperate,” this is the call of   Vice Mayor Bernard Al-ag to the general public as the city implements the strict security measures.

Al-ag has called on the people to bear with the necessary inspections which the Davao City Police Office (DCPO) and the Task Force Davao (TFD) implements.

“Law abiding citizens need not worry, we are just protecting you and the people against any lawless  elements,” he added.  “We need everyone’s cooperate and understanding, this is not just about Davao, this is about us.”

Travelers and visitors of the city should understand the measures which are aimed at protecting everyone’s life and their properties.

Addressing himself to the general public, Al-ag emphasized  “There are mobile checkpoints established in different areas . We ask for your understanding, please cooperate to avoid delay.”

For years, Davao City has established checkpoints at the boundaries of the city but there are random checkpoints being established now, as an added security layer after the August 28 and September 2 bombing in Isulan, Sultan Kudarat which left five people dead and injured 51 others.

Al-ag advised the travelers to prepare their identification cards.
