Duterte accepts Mocha’s resignation

DAVAO CITY (October 4) —  Special Assistant to the President Christopher Lawrence “Bong” Go confirmed, President Rodrigo Duterte has accepted the resignation of Communications Assistant Secretary Margeaux “Mocha” Uson yesterday.

Go said Uson submitted her resignation letter  on Tuesday September 2.

“The President respects the decision of Mocha and he thanked her  for serving the people while she was Assistant Secretary at the Presidential Communications Operations Office (PCOO) and for remaining loyal to him,” Go added.

“Nirerespeto po naman ang kanyang pagre-resign at nagpapasalamat rin kami kay Asec. Mocha sa kanyang naging serbisyo po sa gobyernong Duterte (We respect her decision to resign and we are grateful to Asec. Mocha for her service under the Duterte administration),” Go said. “Naging good ally po siya (She was a good ally).”

Uson for her part said “Ako dapat magpasalamat sa Pangulo, pero ngayong private na ako, may free na ako.”

Uson announced her resignation during the deliberation of PCOO budget at the Senate Wednesday.

Partylist Representative Carlos Zarata of Bayana Muna  said the resignation of Uson is long overdue.

uson claimed her resignation is a sacrifice in order that the PCOO budget will be approved.

Uson said, she is considering the possibility of running for public office either for a senate or a house seat come 2019 midterm elections.-Jian A. Padillo/NewsLine.ph
