Blue Alert for MisOr on All Souls and Saints Day

Cagayan de Oro (October 31)– In observance of All Souls and All Saints day, the Misamis Oriental Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office, placed the province into Blue Alert status, effective today Oct. 31, from 5pm, until Nov. 5 at 8am, as mandated by the Civil Defense, Region 10.

Provincial DRRM Director, Fernando Vincent Q. Dy, Jr. the alert status was raised to blue due to the increase of the number of passengers in Laguindingan airport, Balingoan port, and the Integrated Bus terminal of MisOr, which can contribute to the possible or potential threats on criminality and terrorism.

“PDRRMO, MisOr, together with the personnel of Provincial Health Office, will be responsible for the response management on any incident with the support of Misamis Oriental Provincial Police Office,” Dy said.

“Local DRRM responders are placed on standby with their assets preposition, continuous dissemination of advisories and information.” Dy, added.

PNP Provincial Director, P/SSUPT Rolando E. Destura, said that they will be maintaining peace and order on the 53 cemeteries province-wide.

“We will be deploying 350 PNP personnel from October 31 to November 2. Also, we will be establishing, 61 assistance house and this will be maintained by 152 PNP personnel.” said, Destura.

Destura added that the Provincial Police is on full alert, and will be conducting various random checkpoints both eastern and western part of the province. – Hensell Hebaya/NewsLine
