COTABATO CITY (November 20) — The Department of Education in the Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (DepEd-ARMM) honored on Monday two outstanding Bangsamoro teachers, as part of its “Search for Outstanding Bangsamoro Teachers 2018.”

Joymanil Tiblani, 33 of Sulu Division won the recognition for elementary level.

Tiblani has been a teacher for the past 13 years at the Cirilo Bueno Sr. Elementary School in Jolo, Sulu. She was the first teacher from Jolo to be nominated since the contest was launched six years ago.

On the other hand, teacher Sharia Hadji Ali, 45, of the Balindong National High School (BNHS) in Lanao del Sur 1 division, won the Outstanding Bangsamoro Teacher in the secondary level category.

Ali has been a teacher of BNHS for the past 21 years. Both winners received PHP30,000 cash each and plaques of recognition from DepEd ARMM.

Lawyer Laisa Alamia, ARMM executive secretary, said she hopes all the teachers across the region would continue to serve with dedication and passion once the new Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao political entity comes in early next year.

Lawyer Rasol Mitmug Jr, DepEd-ARMM secretary, also lauded the two teachers for exemplifying the service of Bangsamoro teachers in the region. (PNA)
