Dead OFW found floating in Malaysian river

DAVAO CITY (DECEMBER 10)— A Filipina was found dead floating in Pengalan River in Melalap , Malaysian.

The Department of Foreign Affairs in a press statement  the discovery of a a suspected Filipina homicide victim floating in a river in Sabah, Malaysia.

The DFA in a press statement,  identified the body as Madelyn Bernardo Asuncion, who hail from Zambonga but has been in Malaysia for over a decade.

Plantation workers found Asuncion’s body   at the Pengalan River in Melalap  on November 28.

Ambassador Charles Jose said authorities have informed the Philippine Embassy in Malaysia that there was enough evidence to classify the case as possible homicide.

The Embassy is waiting for the official report of the incident and the result of the autopsy from authorities.

According to the DFA, her father assisted authorities in identifying herremains.-EZC/NewsLine
