In North Cotabato town, 2 persons killed in 4 days

KABACAN, NORTH COTABATO (February 6)— At least two persons were killed in a span of 4 days here but police are empty handed about the perpetrators.

Mautin Yusop, was killed by two unidentified gunmen while he was walking towards his home in Barangay Kayaga, Kabacan, North Cotabato at about 8:05 a.m. Sunday.

Responding policemen from the Kabacan municipal police station recovered from the scene of the crime a piece of fired cartridge of a .45 caliber pistol and two pieces of fired cartridge of a .9 mm pistol.

The police authorities said the suspects immediately fled towards the direction of the adjacent town of Carmen.

 On January 30 at about 6:45 a. m., a certain Mansori Mantapid Sidik, 38 years old and a resident of Barangay Bagoinged, Pagalungan, Maguindanao, was shot dead by an unidentified gunman while the victim was driving his Honda XRM motorcycle bearing Plate No. 25086 along Abellera Street, Poblacion, Kabacan, North Cotabato. 

The police authorities recovered from the possession of the victim several pieces of heat-sealed plastic transparent sachets containing white crystalline substance believed to be shabu.

Investigations by the police are now ongoing to identify the suspects and bring them to the bar of justice. – Taher G. Solaiman
