MALUNGON, Sarangani (February 10)-— Police and municipal authorities here rescued a minor from the abuses of his father who cannot accept that his son is a gay.

Nikki (not his real name), 15, a high school student, used the social media account of the municipal government to seek help from Municipal Mayor Tessa Constantino about his plight.

Constantino immediately dispatched members of the Women and Childrens Desk and the staff of the municipal social services department to rescue Nikki.

During the investigation and physical examination, the police discovered fresh injuries from Nikki’s head and contusions all over his body.

Sad enough, Nikki does not want to file charges against his abusive father, saying he cannot allow his father to be jailed because of the abuses.

Social worker Ruth Arangote, revealed the father and son talked at her office, the father promised before the authorities not to hurt his son again or face the consequence.

The incident prompted Constantino to reiterate her policy for the strict implementation of the women and children laws and protect everyone from harm inside their own homes.-Malungon Information Office
