DAVAO CITY (March 6) — Davao City Police Director Colonel Alexander Tagum led the surprise drug testing among members of his command, early Wednesday morning.

Tagum in a text message told NewsLine.ph, “This is our regular countermeasure against possible drugs affection on my lead elements and to show our people that we have the moral ascendancy to lead the war against drugs.”

“We cannot allow drug users among our ranks. We will continuously weed out the unfit in the service,” Tagum stressed.

He said should he find one, he will not hesitate to immediately recommend to fire him/her from service.

The drug test is still ongoing at the DCPO building.

On June 4, last year, Philippine National Police (PNP) chief Director General Oscar Albayalde ordered random drug tests for police officers after a member of the elite Special Action Force (SAF) tested positive for shabu in Taguig City.-Editha Z. Caduaya/NewsLine.ph
