Kidapawan Mayor condemns killing of traffic enforcer

KIDAPAWAN CITY (March 7) –- Mayor Joseph Evangelista has condemned the killing of traffic law enforcer Jeffrey Atud who was killed in broad daylight last Tuesday, March 5.

Atud, 31, was killed while performing his duty at the intersection of Ninoy Aquino road at National Highway, Barangay Lanao.

He is the 6th person killed since January 2019.

The victim was standing along the highway when two motorcyle-riding men arrived and one of them went close and shot him hitting his head which caused his death.

Evangelista assured the family of Atud that those he left behind would receive assistance from the city government. Evangelista said most of the shooting incidents in the city were triggered by personal grudge.-jap/NewsLine.ph
