3 government hospital workers caught sniffing shabu

COTABATO CITY — Police here arrested on Sunday three utility workers at a government-run hospital for using prohibited drugs.

Capt. Rustom Pastolero, Police Station 2 commanders, identified the three suspects as Angelo Fampome, 24; Dimson Sevilla, 26; and Jerome Cortez, 35. The three suspects work as utility personnel at the Cotabato Regional and Medical Center here.

Pastolero said the three were arrested Sunday evening in the act of sniffing shabu in Purok 2, Barangay Rosary Heights 9, following a tip from neighbors about their suspicious activity.

Seized from the suspects were several sachets of shabu and drug paraphernalia, police said.

On Monday evening, police also collared another drug suspect in a drug buy-bust operation along Ortouste St., Barangay Rosary Heights 7, this city.

Pastolero identified the suspect only as certain alias Jun, who was nabbed after he handed over a sachet of shabu to a police poseur-buyer.

He said all arrested suspects are currently being detained at the city police station 2 lock-up cell pending the filing of charges against them for violation of RA 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002. -PNA
