‘Hanna’ out of PAR, rains to continue

MANILA — Typhoon “Hanna” has slightly weakened and now outside the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR) but heavy rains will continue Friday.

In its 5 a.m. severe weather bulletin, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said Hanna exited at 12:30 a.m. Friday.

It was located at 645 kilometers north northeast of Basco, Batanes at 4 a.m., with maximum sustained winds of 175 kilometers per hour near the center and gustiness of up to 215 kph and moving north northwest at 20 kph.

Meanwhile, another typhoon with international name Krosa was estimated at 1,990 kms. east of extreme northern Luzon with maximum sustained winds of 155 kph near the center and gustiness of up to 190 kph and slowly moving east. It is not expected to enter the PAR.

The southwest monsoon (habagat) will continue to bring moderate to heavy rains over Ilocos Region, Cordillera Administrative Region, Batanes, Babuyan Group of Islands, Zambales, Bataan, Occidental Mindoro and northern portions of Palawan including Calamian Islands.

Light to moderate with intermittent heavy monsoon rains will prevail over Metro Manila, western Visayas and the rest of Calabarzon, Central Luzon and Mimaropa.

The rest of the country will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers and thunderstorms due to the southwest monsoon.

Metro Manila temperature ranges from 25-29 degrees Celsius; Tuguegarao City 26-32 degrees Celsius; Baguio City 16-20 degrees Celsius; Metro Cebu 27-32 degrees Celsius; and Metro Davao 27-32 degrees Celsius. (PNA)
