For using improvized cannons, 2 spend New year in jail

DAVAO CITY —- The neighbourhood enjoyed the loud bang of the improvized cannons they made while counting celebrating the new year , but their happiness was short lived, the police arrived and brought the cannon makers to he police precinct where they spent overnight in detention.

The police authorities led by Tugbok Police led by station commander Police Major Ricky Obenza was conducting a patrol particularly at Purok 1, Barangay Tugbok to implement the firecracker ban when they heard the explosion of the improvized cannons.

Since all kinds of pyrotechnics and explosive devices are banned here, the police arrested Daniel Clarito Carbajal, 18 and Renel Saging Labrador, 19 both were residents of Purok 1, Barangay Tugbok.

The Davao City Police reported that the two were apprehended about 12:50 on the morning of January 1, 2020, after they were caught in the act using the improvised cannons.

Confiscated from their possession were two (2) improvised cannon made of PVC pipe and Tin cans and one (1) small spray plastic bottle of flying tiger liquid.

The suspects were temporarily detained at the station for proper disposition, while pertinent papers are being prepared for the soonest filing of appropriate case.
