DAVAO CITY — To celebrate the unconditional love between parents and their adopted children, the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD), in partnership with different national government agencies (NGAs), child-placement institutions, and child-caring institutions will lead the observance of the 2020 Adoption Consciousness Celebration (ACC).

With the theme, “Pagmamahal Palaganapin, Legal na Pag-aampon Ating Gawin! (Spread Unconditional Love through Legal Adoption),” the celebration aims to promote legal adoption as an expression of unconditional love and support to abandoned, neglected, and surrendered children.

The theme also encourages families to undergo legal adoption in order to protect the welfare of adopted children. The legal adoption process will also ensure the safety, security, and best interest of the adoptive children.

The Department, with members of the Association of Child Caring Agencies of the Philippines (ACCAP), will open Adoption Help Desk at the SM Mall, Ecoland, Davao City on February 8 and 9.

The Adoption Resource and Referral Section (ARRS) will also hold a Convention of Adoptive Families and Children on February 22 and an Orientation on Republic Act 11222 or the “Simulated Birth Rectification Act” on February 26 t0 28.

DSWD invites the public to join the celebration and promote the legal adoption advocacy in social media through the hashtags, “#adoptionislove” and “#legaladoption” this February.
