Davao City Vice Mayor and Presidential son Sebastian “Baste” Duterte is under home quarantine and a person under monitoring (PUM) after manifesting coronavirus disease symptoms.

Mayor Sara Duterte-Carpio said Baste has a fever, cough, and sore throat, all symptoms of Covid-19.

Aside from his symptoms, Baste is now classified as a PUM after a recent trip from Manila four weeks ago.

“More than 21 days na siya sa incubation process sa sakit (It is more than 21 days from the incubation process of the disease). I hope he gets well soon,” Duterte-Carpio said in a radio interview.

“I am subjecting myself to a 14-day self-quarantine immediately after experiencing flu-like symptoms in the past days and considering my travel to Metro Manila four weeks ago,” the vice mayor said on his official Facebook post.

“I would like to remind everyone to always follow the guidelines from the local government in view of the ongoing (Covid-19) concerns. Let us take this matter seriously and help one another in overcoming this health crisis,” Duterte added

The mayor herself was under home quarantine after a recent trip to Manila. She had a meeting with Senator Sherwin Gatchalian in Manila on March 11, after discussing important matters affecting Davao City.

One of the employees at the Duterte-Carpio residence was also listed as a PUM after feeling unwell on Wednesday evening, March 11.
