Covid-19 cases rise to 3,660, death to 163

MANILA – The Department of Health (DOH) on Monday reported 414 new confirmed coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19) cases, bringing the total number to 3,660.

In its 4 pm case bulletin, the DOH also said the number of patients who recovered from Covid-19 climbed to 73 but reported 11 new deaths, increasing the country’s death toll to 163.

In a virtual presser, DOH Undersecretary Maria Rosario Vergeire said medical expenses of every Filipino infected with Covid-19 will be shouldered by the Philippine Health Insurance Corporation (PhilHealth).

“Covered ang lahat (Everyone is covered),” Vergeire said. “Kahit ang mga hindi naka-rehistro sa PhilHealth ay bibigyan ng coverage ng PhilHealth ngayong may krisis tayo alinsunod sa implementing rules and regulations ng universal health care law lahat ng Pilipino ay (Even those who have not registered to PhilHealth will be given coverage in this time of crisis following the implementing rules and regulations of universal health care law all Filipinos are) enrolled in the national health insurance program.”

While all Filipinos are “deemed registered in PhilHealth”, Vergeire said those who have not registered still need to fill out a PhilHealth Member Registration Form.

She said the form must be submitted to the hospital to formalize their membership and receive Covid-19 coverage benefits. (PNA)
