BAROY, LANAO DEL NORTE – The municipal government of Baroy town tendered a simple awarding ceremony, to welcome and honor 2Lt. Rubenson Prajes Abgao who completed the Philippine Military Academy Masidlawin Class of 2020 with honors after finishing 9th in the country’s premier military school last month.

Amid restrictions in the ongoing modified enhanced community quarantine (MGCQ) in the country, Abgao came to his hometown for a home leave prior to pursuing military pilot training in the Philippine Air Force.

Town mayor Rosa Dahab Olafsson awarded Abgao with a plaque of recognition highlighting his achievement as the first resident of Baroy who made it to the Top 10 graduates of the Academy.

“He has brought pride and honor to the town and people of Baroy. I salute you, 2Lt. Rubenson Abgao,” Olafsson said in Cebuano.

The Sangguniang Bayan, on the other hand, through a resolution in today’s regular session, acknowledged Abgao’s success and recognized his achievement as an important milestone stating that Abgao gave a “meaningful contribution to this Municipality in the field of military service”.

The SB resolution further stated that the “Sanggunian, with pride and honor, salutes and recognizes the courage and determination of this young and promising officer.”
