DAVAO CITY —- Mayor Sara Duterte-Carpio is urging the public not to believe on claims by some individuals soliciting money or favor using her name.

In an interview with the city government-owned Disaster radio program on Wednesday, Duterte-Carpio revealed she has been receiving reports that her name is being used by some scammers to solicit money or favor, an issue she strongly denies.

She said people need to verify first if those using her name to solicit money or favors are really staff at the City Mayor’s Office.

“Kung dunay tao nga muduol nga mag ingon nga mao ni ang sugo, the best way ana is to verify it with the city mayor’s office (If some approaches telling you that I commissioned them, the best way is to verify it first with the City Mayor’s Office),” she stressed.

One can verify such concern or person by sending an email to her office through davaocitymayor@gmail.com or by sending a message to the Davao City Reports on Facebook.

Reports reaching the mayor revealed, some individuals have been using Mayor Inday’s name and asking for supposed donations to various activities in the city, including the alleged funding against the coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19).-Newsline
