Davaoeños remember Roxas night market bombing

DAVAO CITY — The city government of Davao through Mayor Sara Duterte-Carpio led the 4th year Commemoration of the Roxas Night Market bombing incident, Wednesday afternoon, September 2.

Duterte-Carpio shared the moment with the victims families as Archbishop Romulo G. Valles, D.D. officiated the holy mass at the site.

The Roxas night market bombing on September 2, 2016, claimed 14 lives with 70 others injured.

In his message, the Mayor said that Davao City must be one in being vigilant, as she urged the residents to embrace the city’s Culture of Security campaign.

The culture of safety campaign encourages community participation in fighting acts of terrorism.

The night market is scheduled to re-open on September 12, but Duterte-Carpio said everyone must observe the security and health protocols to prevent any terroristic incident to happen again and to avoid the spread of Covid-19.-Newsline.ph
