Davao hospital locked down, 54 persons for Swab test

DAVAO CITY — The regional inter-agency task force here has ordered a lock on a local hospital starting 2 o’clock in the morning of November 23, after a medical frontliner tested positive for Coronavirus disease.

This as 54 individuals who had close contact with the physician underwant swab test on Monday.

Dr. Jojit Marbas, who is the district physician of the City Health Office in Calinan in an interview with Newsline .ph said the task force placed Isaac Robillo Hospital in Calinan after the swab test result showed one of its doctors is infected.

Marba revealed that the doctor undertook RT-PCR test last Friday and did rounds on Saturday, the result was released last afternoon on Sunday.

Health authorities are now conducting a massive contact tracing to all patients who were in close contact with the doctor including the watchers.

Of the 54 individuals subjected to Swab test: 21 are patients; 21 are watchers are ; 12 nurses.

Authorities said the doctor was wearing face mask when he made rounds but patients and watchers told health authorities, the doctor did not properly wear his face mask as it only covered his mouth.

In many instances in the past, some Covid-19 were exposed to either work place or their families while waiting for the result of their test.-Cheche G. Diabordo/Newsline.ph
