DIPOLOG CITY – The internal cleansing program of the Philippine National Police (PNP) will continue in order to instill strict discipline among policemen.

This was disclosed by PBGen. Ronaldo Genaro Ylagan, the new regional director of the Police Regional Office 9 (PRO-9), in an interview with NewsLine Philippines.

Ylagan claimed that in the province of Davao del Norte, there are policemen who are facing administrative charges and are being slapped with a 6-day suspension but he declined to name the police officers.

He said the PNP internal cleansing program is continuing and administrative charges will be filed against the erring policemen.

On Jan. 2, Ylagan held a command conference with all the chiefs of police in Zamboanga del Norte together with Provincial Director Police Col. Ronald Briones where he announced his marching orders in the presence of the media.

Ylagan gave emphasis to the campaign of President Rodrigo Duterte against illegal drugs and other criminalities like proliferation of loose firearms and criminal gangs, among others. – NewsLine Philippines
