VALENCIA CITY – A suspect in the killing of Soriano Pagunsan Moreno, a male nurse, inside a lodging house here on Monday, was arrested by the police on Friday, Jan. 8, in Barangay Candelaria, San Francisco town in the province of Bukidnon.

The suspect, Jason Siñola Jamero, 20 years old, was arrested by members of the Valencia City police in his house hours before the burial of Moreno in Bayog town in Zamboanga del Sur.

LtCol. Cipriano Bazar, Valencia City police chief, said recovered from the suspect were  cellphone, driver’s license, motorcycle key and the knife used in killing Moreno.

Police investigation, according to Bazar, disclosed that Moreno and Jamero were friends but the suspect got mad at the victim that led to the commission of the crime.

Bazar, however, declined to reveal the cause of the dispute between the suspect and the victim.

On Jan. 7, the motorcycle of Moreno was found abandoned in Barangay Bangcud, Malaybalay City and a witness saw that it was Jamero who left it there.

Bazar said the belongings of Moreno found in the possession of Jamero will be used as evidence against the latter.

Jamero, who is already in a lockup cell, confessed that he had a companion in committing the crime.  His companion is now the subject of a police manhunt.

A charge of murder is presently readied against Jamero. – Newsline.ph
