ISABELA CITY, BASILAN — Members of Basilan Police arrested a village chairman and his alleged cohorts who are suspected to be members of a gun-for-hire group operating in Basilan Province.
PNP Chief, Police General Debold M Sinas said a composite police team from the Regional Mobile Force Battalion (RMFB)-9, Anti-Kidnapping Group (AKG) and PNP Special Action Force (SAF) arrested Chairman JAMIRON AJIJON aka Jamirun Amigos of Barangay Marang, Sumisip, Basilanin inside the barangay hall at 1:30AM, January 28, 2021.
Sinas said Ajijon is the subject of a warrant of Arrest issued by Hon. Leo Jay Prinsipe , Presiding Judge of RTC 9th Judicial Region Branch 1 of Isabela City, Basilan.
Ajijon is accused in Criminal Case No. 3743-524 for the crime of Murder. He is a prime suspect in the assassination of businessman Roberto Musablin in September 6, 2004 in Brgy Manaul, Sumisip, Basilan.
The arresting team confiscated from Ajijon an M-16 rifle, and a caliber.45 pistol. Police records also identified Ajijon as leader of the City Hunter gun-for-hire group allegedly involved in the kidnapping of the Francisco Couple in Maluso, Basilan and the kidnapping of Yahong Tan Lim in Isabela City, Basilan both in 2014.
Also arrested in the same operation was Bassel Ajijon Eting, for violation of RA 10591 for illegal possession of M-16 rifle.
Held for questioning were: Alnasre A. Amigos, 21, and Johan L. Amigos, 20.
The arrested suspects were brought to the AKG Mindanao Field Office in Camp Batalla, Zamboanga City for documentation and investigation. Newsline.ph
