COTABATO CITY – The 25-police force of Pagalungan town in Maguindanao province were tested postive for Coronavirus 19.

They are now undergoing the 14-day mandatory isolation after testing positive for the coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19) on Wednesday.

Brig. Gen. Samuel Rodriguez, police regional director for the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region (PRO-BARMM), has deployed another team to replace the entire Pagalungan PNP Unit in the maintenance of peace and order.

Rodriguez said a police from said town went to the nearby Midsayap town to attend the patronal fiesta, but immediately showed symptoms of Covid-19, prompting said personnel to undergo RT-PCR test which turned out positive.

When the result broke off, other personnel opted to undergo voluntary RT-PCR test which was conducted last Wednesday, and everyone of the 25 PNP personnel were tested positive.

Maguindanao Health Chief, Dr. Elizabeth Samama has augmented the personnel of the Pagalungan municipal health station to attend to the officers’ medical needs.

Samama also ordered contact tracing of people with all the police officers involved, including their respective families. Newsline.ph
