PH authorities monitor sale of Covid-19 vaccine in Black market

DAVAO CITY — The different law enforcement agencies of the country is now monitoring the reported supply of Covid-19 vaccine in the black market.

Brig. General  Debold Sinas, the PNP Chief, in a statement on Thursday said they are now coordinating with the Department of Health, National Task Force  on Covid-19 and the Food and Drug Administration and have mobilized police teams that will monitor black market activities for counterfeit and unauthorized COVID-19 vaccines that may have entered the country.

“I have taken to task the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group, Intelligence Group, and other National Operational Support Units to organize operating teams that will launch operations to prevent the entry, distribution and sale of COVID-9 vaccines without proper authorization from the concerned government agencies,” Sinad said in a press statement.

As emphasized by DOH, NTF and FDA no particular brand of COVID-19 vaccine is authorized to be marketed commercially in the Philippines.

The PNP will strictly implement this official policy, and take appropriate police action in accordance with existing laws.
