132k AstraZeneca, 29k Pfizer, 80 Sinovac arrive at Davao International Airport

DAVAO CITY — Thousands of Coronavirus Vaccines (CoronaVac) arrived at the Davao International Airport on Tuesday afternoon (May 11) through Cebu Pacific Pacific Flight.

Around 4:05 pm., Cebu Pacific 5J 969 conveyed the 132,000 doses of AstraZeneca vaccine, 29,250 doses of Pfizer and 80 doses of Sinovac.

In an interview, Department of Health 11 (DOH 11) Health Education and Promotion Officer Yasmien Avila said of the total AstraZeneca delivered, 20,000 of these will be allocated for the second from the allocation for the A1 Priority group which composed of medical frontliners.

“Kini tong para sa A1 eligible groups nato nga wala pa nabakunahan sa ilang second dose (These are for the A1 eligible groups who are not yet vaccinated for their second dose),” she said. 

Avila explained that the said 20,000 doses will be divided for the provinces and here in the city. Of the total, 4,627 will be for Davao City, 1,360 for Southern Philippines Medical Center, 5,720 for Davao del Norte including Davao Regional Medical Center, 3,200 Davao de Oro, 2,600 Davao Oriental, 1,750 Davao del Sur and 743 Davao Occidental. 

While the 56,000 doses will be for the first dose of A2 Priority group or the senior citizens. Of the total, 21,000 will be given to Davao City, 11,000 Davao del Norte, 8,000 Davao de Oro, 7,000 Davao del Sur, 6,000 Davao Oriental and 3,000 Davao Occidental. 

For the Pfizer vaccine, Avila said there are no allocations yet since it is still being discussed. 

She said the other 56,000 will be allocated for the second dose of A2 group. But, there is still allocation yet per province and city.

Meanwhile, Avila said of 84,692 medical frontliners in Davao Region, there are already 64,034 being vaccinated for the first dose and 20,768 for the second dose as of May 11. –Armando Fenequito Jr.
