Army nabs wanted commander in Maguindanao

PROVINCE OF MAGUINDANAO —The joint elements of 6th Infantry (Redskin) Battalion under 6th Infantry (Kampilan) Division together with the elements from the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group – Bangsamoro Autonomous Region (CIDG- BAR), and Datu Piang Municipal Police Station arrested the leader of an armed lawless group for multiple murder during a law enforcement operation conducted in Datu Piang, Maguindanao today (May 21, 2021).

Colonel Pedro Balisi Jr., Commander of the 1st Mechanized Infantry identified the suspect as Anayatin Duma alias Commander Duma who is facing multiple frustrated and murder cases with criminal case no. 2003-018 without bail bond”.

Lieutenant Colonel Charlie Banaag, Commanding Officer of 6IB, said that the suspect was nabbed at Sitio Tangguapo, Barangay Damabalas in the said town around 7:00 in the morning today. He peacefully submits himself to the authorities after he was frisked and cuffed by the government forces. “The arrested suspect was listed as one of the most wanted personnel affiliated to local terrorist groups and its cohorts based on the DND-DILG Joint Orders on Rewards”, Lt. Col. Banaag further disclosed.

Major General Juvymax R. Uy, Commander of 6th Infantry (KAMPILAN) Division and Joint Task Force Central said that the arrest of the commander of this notorious armed lawless group will definitely contribute to preventing any form of criminalities in Maguindanao.

Uy lauded his troops for a job well done.
