DepEd extends enrollment ‘til Sept 30

DAVAO CITY  — In an effort to further increase the number of students for school year 2021-2022, the executive committee of the Department of Education has decided to extend the enrollment until September 30, 2021.

In a virtual presser on Monday, September 13, the opening day of classes, DepEd Undersecretary Revsee Escobedo said  “Batay po sa napag-usapan ng execom [executive committee] noong nakaraang pagmi-meeting, magpapalabas po tayo ng memorandum na kung saan ang Department of Education ay tatanggap ng enrollees hanggang September 30, 2021.”

(Based on the discussion of the execom ( executive committee) during our last meeting, we will issue a memorandum that we will still accept enrollees until September 30, 2021.”

With the extension, the Education department expects that number of enrollees will increase and surpass the number of enrollees during school year  2020 to 2021.

The record of the DepEd shows, on September 13, they  listed 24.6 million enrollees, the figure is a bit lower compared to the 2020-2021 records which showed 26.2 million students enrollees,

This school year is the second year for the students to study under the new system of learning under the New Normal condition for Philippine schools to implement distance or blended learning where learning modules, television, radio and the internet are utilized as media of instruction.
