Samal Island extends liquor ban

DAVAO CITY –— The city government of the Island Garden City of Samal (IGACOS) has extended the 24-hour liquor ban until October 15, 2021.

Samal Mayor AL David T, Uy on Thursday issued Executive Order No. 319, Series of 2021 states “It is hereby declared that the 24-hour liquor ban in the entire Island Garden City of Samal is extended until October 15, 2021. No liquor, alcoholic drinks or beverage shall be sold, served or consumed 24 hours of the day within the aforesaid period.”

Section 2. the EO empowers the ” Philippine National Police (PNP), Task Force Samal, Civilian Volunteer Organization and Barangay Officials are mandated to conduct surveillance and monitoring and to strictly implement the provisions of this Executive Order.”

It further states “Any person under the influence of liquor caught outside of their residence shall automatically undergo an Antigen Test or RTPCR Test. Section 3. Violation. Any violation thereof shall be dealt with under existing laws, ordinances, rules, and regulations. The business permit of business establishments violating any provision of this Executive Order shall be automatically revoked.”
