Zambo Norte town road now concrete

Davao City —The used to be rough road in the town of Labason, Zamboanga del Norte is now a good concrete road.

Department of Public Works and Highways region 9, regional director Cayamombao Dia reported to then Secretary Mark Villar that they paved 1.5-kilometer of roads in the Municipality of Labason, Zamboanga del Norte.

Dia reported that two (2) projects were accomplished along Lopoc-Dansalan Road and Barangay Ubay, in Labason, Zamboanga del Norte with an allocated budget of P15-million and P10-million, respectively.

Scope of works include earthworks, construction of Portland Cement Concrete Pavement (PCCP), installation of pavement markings, and provision of drainage and grouted riprap.

The Road networks that will help improve the mobilization of agricultural products from farms to bigger market hubs are important infrastructure in rural areas that will further increase socio-economic activities,” Villar noted/

These projects will help reduce travel time and road maintenance cost, while providing more livelihood opportunities to residents and motorists. With the completed road projects, domestic tourism is also expected to bolster as it will encourage travelers and outdoor activities enthusiasts.
