DAVAO CITY —Seven (7) schools in Region 12 are allowed open face to face classes come November 12.
The pilot run will start on November 15 and will end on January 31. The DepEd is targeting to expand the conduct of limited face-to-face classes to more schools on March 7.
Education Undersecretary Nepomuceno Malaluan earlier said 59 public schools have passed the assessment of health officials to conduct the pilot face-to-face classes. He added DepEd will continue to assess nominated schools until the initial number of 120 schools for the pilot run is reached.
Antonio Moganto, spokesperson of DepEd 12, nine (9)schools in the region are included in the pilot program of the DepEd and of this seven (7) are from Saranggani Province and the other two (2) from North Cotabato.
He said the number of students will be limited and the students have only up to four (4) except for kindergarten who will be allowed to stay up to three (3) hours which is based on the guidelines defined by the Department of Health which was agreed through a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA).
In a classroom, only 16 learners are allowed for grades 1 to 3 while 20 for grades 4 to grade 12.-Eugene Hinutan
